Fait La Force Strategies is a boutique social impact consultancy bridging philanthropy, politics, and social change with community and culture. Our clients are mission-driven leaders and organizations committed to advancing gender justice, racial and economic equity, and democracy. We partner with philanthropists, nonprofit leaders, and mission companies to provide philanthropic advising, conduct multi-year strategic planning efforts, and support leaders with organizational management. 

Position Overview

We are seeking an Associate to join our small and nimble team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is intellectually curious, detail-oriented, and deeply committed to social justice. You will work closely with the Principal Consultant to support a wide range of projects, from research and writing memos, data analysis, participation in stakeholder briefings and interviews, project management and administrative support across projects, budget tracking, and development of early drafts of client work product. You will also contribute to the firm’s ability to stay on the leading edge of the social justice movement, participating in coalitions, external meetings, and conferences.

This role is ideal for a dynamic self-starter who enjoys learning, stays curious, loves to problem solve, and wants to grow within a mission-driven consulting firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and analysis on issues related to gender justice and democracy, including policy changes, philanthropic trends, and challenges facing nonprofits working on these issues. 

  • Support client projects through background research, literature reviews, data synthesis, and writing.

  • Assist in developing slide decks, reports, and client deliverables.

  • Track timelines and help manage workplans and project workflows.

  • Attend client meetings and draft meeting summaries or memos.

  • Support the Principal Consultant in business development, including preparing proposals and conducting prospect research.

  • Contribute to internal knowledge management and learning efforts.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience building your own knowledge and expertise whether in the workplace or through a traditional postsecondary education. Relevant fields include political science, sociology, public policy, nonprofit management, gender studies, communications.

  • 0-3 years of professional experience in the nonprofit, philanthropic, or social impact sectors.

  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.

  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; familiarity with tools like Airtable, Asana, or Canva is a plus.

  • Demonstrated interest in gender equity, democracy, and social justice.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small, high-performing team.

Role Details 

  • Contractor position

  • Up to 20 hours

  • $35–$50/hour, depending on experience

  • Must be available during consistent weekly time blocks

  • Remote, Los Angeles-based preferred
